Thomas Ray “Tom” Reed, Sr., 40, of Beaumont died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. Tom was born on October 28, 1965 in Pasadena, Texas and has been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a maintenance supervisor for Steinhagen Oil Company.
Tom will be remembered for his undying love for his wife, Catherine who he called his “very reason for his existence” and his best friend. He was a devoted father to all of his children, an adoring grandfather and a wonderful provider for all.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine Reed and their four children; daughter, Melinda Rogers of Orange and Kimberly Reed of Beaumont; sons, Thomas Reed, Jr. and Joshua Reed both of Beaumont; grandchildren, Levi and Katie Rogers of Orange; father, Walter Reed of Vidor; mother, Carrie Ryter of Houston; sister, Jamie Walker of Houston; brothers, Timothy, Wesley and Joey Reed all of Vidor; three half sisters, Shelia Webber of Houston, Jessica Manuel and Allison Reed of Vidor; as well as countless number of other family members and dear friends.
Funeral services will be 3:30 P.M. Monday, July 17, 2006 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3175 South Major Drive in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, 101 Block Street in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, July 16, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the church.
