Opal Wells, 86, of Pinewood, passed away, Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth.
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana and longtime resident of Beaumont, Opal retired from Lamar University Health Department as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Wells.
Survivors include her son, Howard Wells and his wife Molly of Pinewood; three grandchildren, Doug Wells and his wife Monica of Sour Lake, Darla Sanderson and her husband Perry Sanderson II of Pinewood, and Dr. Don Wells of Austin; eight great grandchildren, Cody Wells and his wife Sarah, Lyndi Wells, Perry Sanderson III and his wife Amy, Brian Sanderson and his wife Laura, Kevin Sanderson, Austin Wells, Reed Wells and Rebecca Wells; one great great granddaughter, Emma Sanderson; four nieces; four nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with Reverend Charles Empey of Bethel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Doug Wells, Don Wells, Perry Sanderson II, Cody Wells, Brian Sanderson, Kevin Sanderson, Austin Wells and Ronny Taylor, Jr. serving as pallbearers. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Mortuary.
