John K. “Big John” Eason, Sr., 64, of Silsbee, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at his residence.
A lifelong resident of Hardin County, he was a retired supervisor for Texas Fireworks.
Big John was preceded in death by his mother and father Columbus Jackson and Pearl Eason; son, Jerry Eason; brother, Bitty Man Eason and sister, Evelyn Eason.
Survivors include his children, Carl Eason and wife Erin of Fred, Billy Eason and wife Maudine of Silsbee, Donna Gardner and husband Gary of Silsbee, Patricia Jacobs and husband Joey of Fred and Little John Eason of Silsbee; 13 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Oma Lee Walker, Hazel Gardner, Mary Pearl Ellison, Faye Landry, Peaches Jenkins, Linda Lee, Janie Jackson, Thomas Eason and Jimmy Eason.
Funeral service will be 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Broussard’s Chapel, 490 Cemetery Road at highway 96 bypass in Silsbee, with burial to follow at Cunningham Cemetery, also in Silsbee. A gathering of family and friends will be the evening of July 4, 2006 at Big John’s house, located at 10595 FM 2937 in Silsbee.
