Ernestine “Ernie” Wade, 78, of Beaumont, died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at her home in Beaumont.
Born in Jacksonville, Texas, Ernie moved to Beaumont with her husband and baby daughter in 1954. She helped her husband operate Gulf Coast Industrial Contractors before he died and continued to manage the company for ten years after.
Some of Ernie’s greatest pleasures came from playing with her granddaughter, square dancing, playing bridge and spending time at her cabin at Crystal Beach.
Her husband of forty-seven years, Jack A. Wade, preceded her in death in 1994.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Hanson and her husband Glenn of Beaumont; granddaughter, Amy J. Renick and her husband Scott of Beaumont; great granddaughter, Corinne Elizabeth Renick of Beaumont; brothers, John Irwin and his wife Ann of Gilmer, and Jack Irwin and his wife Kathy of Beaumont; and sister, Betty White of Groves.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006 at the Mortuary.
