August “Sidney” Okun, 70, of Lumberton died June 24, 2006. A native of Woodville was a longtime resident of Beaumont before moving to Lumberton in 1995, he worked for Yellow Freight as a Freight Driver until his retirement and was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Okun; daughter, Curtis Ann Okun; stepsons, Michael Henry Bush and his wife Joyce, Danny Paul Bush and his wife Brenda; sisters, Jean Wheat of Lufkin and Helen Southall of Virginia; brothers, Henry Okun of Lumberton and Jim Okun of Vidor; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 26, 2006 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive with a 12:30 P.M. graveside service at Hopewell Cemetery in Woodville. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday evening June 25, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
