Margaret Polite Penland, 87, of Nederland passed away Saturday, June 10 2006 at Christus Hospital St. Mary in Port Arthur.
A gathering of family and friends will be 5-8 P.M., Monday, June 12, 2006 at Broussard’s Mortuary, 505 12th Street, Nederland. Funeral services will be private.
Mrs. Penland was a native of Port Arthur, and a longtime resident of Nederland.
She is survived by her sons, Don Penland and his wife Donna, John Penland and his wife Jennifer, Joe Penland and his wife Linda, all of Kountze, and Lee Penland of Alpine; her brother, Jimmy Polite; eleven grandchildren, Bonnie Penland Knau, Ryan Penland, Leigan Penland Rogers, Joe Penland, Jr. and his wife April, Shawn Burke and his wife Kelly, Nacona Perkins and her husband Ryan, Rusty Penland, Summer Penland, Holly Penland Warren, Joel Lawrence and Josh Lawrence; and twelve great grandchildren, Chris Warren, Jr., Maranda Penland, Braden Knau, Nolan Rogers, Taylor Burke, Dalton Burke, Hannah Burke, Luke Burke, Joe Penland III, Falon Bailey Penland, Harley Perkins and Hunter Perkins; her niece and nephew, JoAnn Sowell and August J. Polite. Mrs. Penland was preceded in death by her parents, Dominick and Ana Viola Polite; and two brothers, Frank Polite and Joe Polite.
The family would also like to extend their appreciation to Mrs. Penland’s cherished companion, Mavis Norris and loving caregivers, Kay Wells and Linda Gregory.
