Barbara Bishop Beck, 74, of Kountze was born in Bessemer, Alabama, on March 19, 1932 to James and Bertha Bishop. She passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Country Dreams in Kountze.
Barbara lived in the Beaumont-Kountze area for many years and was a homemaker and loving mother. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Kountze.
She is preceded in death by her husband: John Beck; brothers: Jim Bishop, Ed Bishop, Kermit Bishop and Charles Bishop and 1 sister: Virginia Huckabee.
She is survived by her children: Jim Drew and his wife, Diane of Wimberley, Texas, Rick Drew and his wife Vickie of Kountze and Patti Carraway of Kountze; brother: Orville Bishop of Centerpoint, Alabama; sister: Francis Dement of West Chester, PA; 12 grandchildren: Amy, Jamie, Jeremy, Dustin, Heather, Summer, JD, Matthew, Lacey, Chelsea, Sam and Kim; 10 Great-Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Kountze with Reverend Bill Jobe officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s – Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, June 7, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s 530 W. Monroe, Kountze, Texas 77625.
