Donnie Horton, 55, of Groves passed away Monday, June 5, 2006 at his residence in Groves.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 8, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Port Neches with Rev. David Mahfouz officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday evening at the mortuary.
Donnie was born in Elizabeth, Louisiana, was a native of West Lake, and lived in Groves since 1976. He was employed with Valero Refinery in Port Arthur as a machinist with 29 years of service, and also served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Jackie Horton of Groves; parents, Edsel and Hazel Horton of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; one daughter, Tonya Jewell and husband Robert of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; one son, Scott Horton of Groves; two brothers, Charles Horton of Grant, Louisiana, and Gregg Horton of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; one grandson, Bryce Jewell.
