Gerald Wayne Russell, age 63, of Nederland, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Promise Specialty Hospital in Port Arthur.
Mr. Russell was born Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana in 1943, and had been a resident of the mid-county area for the past 11 years. He worked as a welder for many years and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Russell of Beaumont; one son, Jerry Russell and his wife Patricia of Woodville; two daughters, Anita Kay and her husband Danny of Natchitoches, Louisiana and Ashley Barnes and her husband Timothy of Beaumont; one stepson, Shawn Jurek and his wife Dianne of Nederland; one stepdaughter, Gwen Alexander and her husband Gary of League City; four sisters, Bobbie Lee and her husband Burl, Vera Bayles and her husband Willard, both of Natchitoches, Elma Bierden and her husband Willie and Doris Miller and her husband Buddy, both of Shreveport, Louisiana; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and one grandson.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 12-2 P.M. Sunday, May 28, 2006 at Broussard’s Mortuary 505 12th. St. in Nederland with a Memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM at Broussard’s Nederland Chapel with Reverend Kevin LaRouse officiating.
