Virginia I. Whiteside, 81, of Thicket, died Monday, April 24, 2006 in Kountze. She was born June 3, 1924 to Lavena and Orville Hooks in Batson, Texas.
Virginia was a lifelong resident of Thicket. She was a homemaker and faithful member of Center Baptist Church in Thicket.
She is survived by her daughters; Sylvia Burnett and husband Carl of Sudan, Texas, Lavena George and her husband Gary of Sugarland, Texas, and Leta Moffett and her husband Terry of Spring, Texas; her sons James Whiteside and his wife Teresa of Thicket, Texas and Delbert Whiteside and his wife Vicki of China Spring, Texas; brother, Alfred Hooks of Dennison, Texas; sister Inez Elkins of Devers, Texas; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Broussard’s Mortuary Chapel, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze, Texas with Reverend Leslie Gains officiating. Burial will follow at Hall Cemetery in Thicket, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
