Terry “Big Boy” Perkins, 57, of Beaumont, was born August 30, 1946 in Port Arthur and went home to be with Jesus on June 15, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital. A life long resident of the Golden Triangle area he was a retired carman for Southern Pacific Railroad. He lived to help others, never met a stranger and saw the best in everyone.
He was preceded in death by his Dad, W.K. “Bill” Perkins and his brother-in-law, K.W. “Juggie” Herrin.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; sons, Terry, Jr. and James “Butch” Perkins; daughter-in-law, Connie Perkins; grandchildren, Brady, Cody, Caleb and Nicole Perkins; mother, Gloria Scherry and her husband Curtis; brothers, Bill and his wife Delbra and Tim and his wife Brenda; sister, Sue Perkins; brother-in-law, Pat Brady and his wife Jennie. His special loves were his numerous nieces and nephews and the Reverend D.C. Herrin family.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont with burial to follow at Mansfield Cemetery in Vidor. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday evening, June 18, 2004 at the mortuary.
