Anna Phoebe (Reinhart) Franke
Anna completed her earthly journey of 92 years on March 26th, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 777 N. 4th Street, Beaumont on Saturday, April 1st 2006, at 2 p.m. followed immediately by burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, March 31st, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont and on Saturday at the church prior to the funeral service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Anna was born on October 9, 1913 in Galveston, Texas to parents John and Augusta Reinhart. She was the youngest of seven children, their “baby girl”. She grew up living a “family-centered” life on the island. Anna worked at American National Insurance Co. prior to her marriage in 1950 to Carl A. Franke. Anna moved with her husband and two daughters to Beaumont when Carl’s employer, Texas Gulf Sulfur Co., relocated their operations. Anna and Carl raised their children in Beaumont and Anna lived there until 1999. From that time until her death, Anna lived in the home of her daughter, Karla Schlabach and her beloved son-in-law, Michael R. Schlabach.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Augusta Reinhart; husband, Carl A. Franke; her three brothers, John Reinhart, Harold Reinhart and Edwin Reinhart; and three sisters, Agnes Reinhart, Hilda Reinhart and Helen Reinhart.
Anna is survived by her daughters, Christine Franke-Hruby and Karla Schlabach; sons-in-law, Dennis Hruby and Michael Schlabach; grandchildren, Michael Schlabach, Jr., Matthew Schlabach, Tracy Hruby and Kenzie Hruby; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Reinhart, Marian Reinhart and Fern Franke; nieces and nephews, Debra Adams, Karen Davidson, Denise Franke, Jane Gonzales, Donna Green, Joanne Meyers, Bruce Reinhart, James Reinhart, John Reinhart, Larry Reinhart, and Paul Reinhart; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
