Mary Frances Easterwood
On Sunday, March 26, 2006, God called His faithful servant Mary Frances Easterwood home after 91 years, knowing that “our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.” Philippians 3:20-21
Mary was born in Nevada, Texas on July 27, 1914 and was raised in Garland, Texas. She married Marvin J. Easterwood, Jr. on February 16, 1940 in Dallas, Texas. They moved to Beaumont in 1946 where she has resided since. As a devoted member of North End Baptist Church, she served whole-heartedly for fifty years as a preschool Sunday school teacher, a choir member and was actively involved with Keenagers and homebound ministries. She loved Jesus more than anything and always shared His love with others.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, M.J. Easterwood, Jr. and granddaughter, Megan Easterwood. Those left to cherish her memory and rejoice in having had her in their lives are her sons, Michael Easterwood and his wife Linda of Round Rock, David Easterwood and his wife Lorraine of Austin and Donald Easterwood and his wife Debbie of Beaumont; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at North End Baptist Church under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive followed by a burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
