J.F. Gilliam, 77, of Saratoga, was born to Bradick and Lillie Gilliam on August 12, 1928 in Gilmer, Texas. He passed away Friday, March 24, 2006 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. J.F. lived in Saratoga for the past 39 years and retired from Coley Lumber Company in Saratoga as a saw mill worker. He was a faithful member of West End Baptist Church in Saratoga.
J.F. is survived by his loving wife Vernell Gilliam; his daughters Linda Howard and her husband Tom of Clark, Texas, Carolyn Ruth Hilton and her husband T. Lee of Saratoga, and Rhonda Love and her husband Phil of Saratoga; son Gary Don Gilliam and wife Tamara of Saratoga; sisters Flora Pack and Dorothy Bridges both of Pittsburg, Texas, eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and one on the way.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at West End Baptist Church, 13189 Cotton Road, Saratoga, Texas with Reverend Alvin Tomlinson and Reverend Jacob Connors officiating under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze. Burial will follow at Felps Cemetery in Thicket. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, March 27, 2006 at West End Baptist Church in Saratoga from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M..
