Mary C. “Auntie” Hyde, 90 of Kountze died Friday, March 24, 2006 in Kountze Nursing Center. A native of Tyler County, Texas, Auntie lived in Kountze most of her life. Auntie worshiped at the First United Methodist Church in Kountze for most of her life, and taught Sunday School for over sixty years there. Although never blessed with biological children of her own, she ultimately had many, many children whom she adored. God certainly used her to lovingly influence young people throughout her life.

She is survived by her nephews, Gary Dean Cruse of Beaumont, Jody Crosby, Bill Barner and James Barner all of Kountze; her niece, Janet VanOver of Prosper, Texas; 9 great nieces and nephews, and 3 great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hyde will be 2 PM Monday, March 27, 2006 at First United Methodist Church of Kountze under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze. A graveside service will be at 4 PM Monday at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville, Texas. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4 – 6 PM Sunday at the mortuary.
