Phyllis A. Johnson, age 87, of Nederland, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
She was born March 17, 1919 in Port Arthur, Texas. She was a lifelong area resident and was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church. During her husband's career with Gulf Oil Corporation, she had the privilege to have lived in Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Spain and Italy.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharron Chandler and husband, Kline of Nederland, Deborah Crotty and husband, Stephen of Miami, Florida; son, Michael Johnson and wife, Donna of Nederland; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Gordon Johnson and son, David G. Johnson.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2006 at Broussard’s Mortuary 505 12th. St. in Nederland. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 28, 2006 in Broussard’s Nederland Chapel with Dr. David Higgs and Dallas Broussard officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, Mark Johnson, Michael Johnson, Jr., Daniel Johnson, Shawn Chandler, Bryan Chandler, Morris Bardwell, Todd Powell and Jeremy Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Derick Johnson, Treven Bardwell, Dustin Bardwell, Colton Johnson, Ryan Johnson and Corbin Chandler, Nicholas Johnson and Langston Johnson.
