Ruth Fisher Lyles Born September 8, 1917 at the confluence of the Broad and Second Broad River in Cliffside, Rutherford County , North Carolina, the daughter of Thomas M. Fisher and Essie Hanes Fisher. A member of Holy Trinity Church, Port Neches, Texas, she lived most of her adult life in and around Charlotte, N.C.
Married November 24, 1935 to J.C. “Tommy” Lyles, she is survived by her son Richard A. Lyles and his wife Marilyn, Grandson Mark S. Lyles and his wife Debby of Nederland, Grandson T. Cayce Lyles and his wife Jennifer of Port Neches, Granddaughter in Law Nuria A. Lyles, of Beaumont, grandchildren, Chelsea, Cody, Josie and Jamie, Brother Terry F. Fisher of Kannapolis, N.C. one sister Jean Fisher Bagley of Charlotte, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years, grandson Richard Jr. , three sisters. Eula Mae Barnes, Nellie Phiffer, and Joyce Reece, and two brothers Bill and John Fisher. A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church 2425 Nall St. Port Neches, Texas at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday March 22nd with Reverend Cliff Rucker officiating.
