Robert “Bobby” Sorrell age 64, of Nederland passed away Friday, March 17, 2006.
He was born October 4, 1941 in Port Neches, TX, having spent his earlier years in the Port Neches/Nederland area. He had been a resident of Houston for the past 30 years. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and was a self employed auto broker. He was a member of the U. S. Army Reserves 1961.
Survivors include son, Jordan H. Sorrell of Houston; brother, George H. Sorrell, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Friendswood; sisters, Martha Sorrell of Nederland, Wilma McGuffee and husband, Slagle of Jena, LA, Wilda Brunson and husband, James of Spring, Glenda Blanchard of Nederland, Trudy Wright, and husband, Ted of Wisconsin and Sandra Broussard and husband, Glen of Nederland.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Hazel Sorrell and one sister, Willette Johnson.
There was a gathering of family and friends from 5-8 pm Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Broussard’s Mortuary 505 12th. St. in Nederland with a rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Monday March 20, 2006 in Broussard’s Nederland Chapel with Reverend Dan Malain officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Port Arthur.
Pallbearers will be Clint Broussard, Craig Blanchard, Jimmy Brunson, Jay McGuffee, Dwayne McGuffee, David McGuffee, Teddy Wright and Bryan Sorrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Broussard and Mark Johnson.
