Joseph “J.E.” Howard, 71 of Fannett died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fannett with burial to follow in Broussard Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A native and life long resident of Fannett, Mr. Howard was a self employed dump truck operator.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Howard of Fannett; sons, Marty Howard and his wife, Becky and Mike Howard and his fiancé Linda Legasse all of Fannett; daughters, Roni Matthews and her husband John and Linda Howard all of Fannett; step daughters, Lindy Goodwin and her husband Mike and Dana Kahla and her husband Scott; sister, Charlotte Rainey of Fannett; grandchildren, Joseph Howard and his wife Jill, Troy Howard and his fiancé Jamie Lobue, Travis Matthews and his wife Katie, Wendy Hebert and her husband Nathan, Janice Maxey and her husband Derek, Michael Howard, Nicholas Howard, Jason Howard, Lacy Howard, Christopher Goodwin, Quinten Kahla, Meagan Worthy, and Derek Worthy; great grandchildren, Jimmy Hebert and his wife Karylanne, Fancy Hebert, Genavieve Matthews, Bradley Howard, and Ashton Howard. Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his son, Jay Eric Howard.
