Donna Jean “Alvina” (Boo) Socia Wood age 23, of Groves passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
She was born January 28, 1983 in Port Arthur and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her father, Braxton Socia, Sr.; daughter, Jaymi Star Shelnut; sister, Tonya Socia; brother Braxton Socia and wife, Mandy and their three sons; Brandon Socia and wife, Cody and their three daughters all of Groves. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends and future fiancé, Marty Cooper.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-8 pm Friday, March 17, 2006 at Broussard’s Mortuary 505 12th. St. in Nederland. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday March 18, 2006 at the Groves First United Pentecostal Church 6225 Terrell St. in Groves with Reverend David Myer and Reverend Joseph Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
