Joan Claire Sampson, passed away February 28, 2006 in Houston, Texas.
The beloved daughter of Mose and Sade Sampson, who each predeceased her. Joan was born June 5, 1935 and grew up in Beaumont, attended and was confirmed at Congregation Temple Emanuel by Rabbi Dr. Samuel Rossinger and graduated from Beaumont High School. She attended the University of Texas and the University of Houston obtaining a Masters Degree in Education. Joan taught for the Houston Independent School District.
Survivors include her brothers, Gerald Sampson and Alan Sampson; niece, Michelle Sampson; nephew, Lance Lubel; niece, Sarah Sampson-Merrill; and nephews, Micah and Benjamin Sampson.
The family wishes to express appreciation to Loretta and Don Hawkins and relatives who attended Joan during her final illness.
Burial in Kol Israel Cemetery.
