Ray E. Gravett, 82, of Beaumont, died Sunday, March 21, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. A native of Orangefield, and a lifetime resident of the area. Ray was a retired operating engineer with the Operators Local 95 union.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Dr., Beaumont. A gathering of Family and Friends will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday at the Mortuary.
He is survived by sons, Terry Gravett and his wife Adella of Orange, and James Gravett and his wife Pat of Lumberton; daughter, Donna Merendino and her husband Edwin of Fischer; sister, Joyce Ann Hilder and her husband Ed of Beaumont; grandchildren, Melissa Harris, Todd Merendino, Jared Merendino, Amanda King, Chris Gravett, Kevin Gravett, and Chase Gravett; great grandchildren, Derek Harris, Kendall Merendino, Jacob Merendino, Dani Perkins, Jordan Merendino, Ambergis King, Jayden Dupuis, Justen Gravett, and Micah Gravett. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Gravett; grandchildren, Patricia Gravett Andrus and Micah Jo Gravett.
