Willard “Tex” Young, 88, of Port Neches passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, February 24, 2006 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Bryan Webb, and Rev. Elvin Gibson officiating. Interment and military graveside service will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday evening at the mortuary.
Mr. Young was a native and lifelong resident of the Port Arthur and Port Neches area. He was retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Full Bird Colonel, serving in WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Viet Nam War. Mr. Young was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland, also a member of the Veteran of Foreign War in Port Neches.
Mr. Young was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Young; he is survived by one daughter, Linda Roberts and husband Dale of Port Neches; one son, David Young and wife Tanya of Hamshire; also seven grandchildren.
