Trina, Just found this webpage a few minutes ago. I was at John's funeral, but his passing didnt hit me till much later! Although I didn't know him well, I miss him everyday. My sorrow comes from knowing what a great person he was. And that I never got to know him well. I heard he had a odd ball, whimsical sense of humor like me! We would have gotten along quite well. Trina, I hope you are doing well. I never hear from you anymore. Take care, and although we are miles apart in many ways, know that I will always love you! You were a wonderful child and I remember well helping raise you. We had lots of fun in the old days, and those memories will never fade, nor will John's memory. Love you Kiddo,
Sheila S

I was a classmate of John's for all 12 years of our public school life. I lost touch with him when I moved away after graduation. Sounds like he remained true to his raising and turned out to be one of the good guys that truly made a difference in this life. I look forward to seeing him again in the great beyond, but meanwhile my prayers will be with his family, friends and co-workers.

TRINA, WHEN I SAW ON THE NEWS THAT JOHN WAS THE OFFICER KILLED IN THE WRECK SUNDAY NIGHT, I WAS HIT WITH NOTHING BUT COMPLETE SHOCK! THE LAST TIME I SAW BOTH OF YOU WAS WHEN I WAS WORKING IN THE LADIES SHOES AT DILLARD'S 2 1/2 YEARS AGO. I REMEMBER JOHN WOULD STOP BY AND VISIT FOR A WHILE EACH TIME HE WAS ON DUTY PATROLLING THE STORE. I ALSO REMEMBER YOU WOULD COME AND VISIT US ON THE DAYS YOU WERE ON DUTY AS WELL! MY HEART ACHES BADLY FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE BEAUMONT POLICE DEPARTMENT. I WANTED TO COME TO THE VISITATION LAST NIGHT TO SEE YOU AND PAY MY FINAL RESPECTS TO JOHN, BUT MY WORK SCHEDULE AT THE HOSPITAL WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO DO SO, SO I DECIDED TO SIGN THE ON-LINE GUESTBOOK! SINCE THE LAST TIME I SAW YOU AND JOHN, I EXPERIENCED A TRAGEDY OF MY OWN! ON DECEMBER 21,2004 MY 22 YEAR OLD BROTHER,MATT, HUNG HIMSELF FROM A BASKETBALL GOAL AT KNUPPLE PARK IN SILSBEE IN BROAD DAYLIGHT! THE SHOCK CAUSED ME TO HAVE A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. THE LAST TIME I SPOKE TO HIM WAS EARLIER IN THE DAY, THEN A FEW HOURS LATER THE POLICE CALLED MY MOTHER TO COME TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHERE SHE WAS TOLD HE WAS FOUND DEAD. JOHN'S DEATH BROUGHT ME BACK TO THAT DAY AND THE DAY OF MATT'S FUNERAL. WHEN I GOT OFF WORK THIS MORNING, I WENT TO THE CEMETERY AND ASKED MATT TO WATCH OVER YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME! I PRAY THAT ANGELS SURROUND YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DURING THIS TIME AND THAT JOHN'S PRESENCE WILL BE WITH YOU ALWAYS!!! MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS ABOVE IF YOU EVER NEED PRAYER OR JUST TO TALK!
