JOSEPH ‘J. B.” BERNARD BERTRAND
Joseph “J. B.” Bernard Bertrand, 78, of Winnie, died February 12, 2006 at the Winnie Community Hospital.
A native of Gueydan, Louisiana, J. B., lived all his life in Winnie and was a retired electrician.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at St. Louis Catholic Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at the funeral home with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes Bertrand of Winnie; son, Billy Joe Bertrand and his wife Karen of Hico, and Glenn McClelland and his wife Karen of Mauriceville; daughters, Sue Johnson of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Paula Long and her husband Tom and Barbara Manuel and her husband Billy all of Winnie, Patricia Hill and husband Charles of Hico, Liz Barnett and husband Dale of Murray, Kentucky, and Lynn Risinger and her husband Ronnie of Orange; brothers, Sidney Bertrand and his wife Ginger of Winnie and L. J. Bertrand and his wife Shirley of Hamshire; sisters, Norma Mitcherling - Smith and Frances LeJune of Victoria, Eunice Kotz and her husband Marlin of Winnie; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by his sister Beulah Boyle.
