Richard Arlen Lyles, Jr., 42, of Beaumont passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital as a result of an accident.
Richard was born on July 6, 1961 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has lived in Texas for thirty-seven years. Richard was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. He was a Vice President of ATSCO, and Treasurer for RMC. He was involved for many years with the Armadillo Ski Club and was serving as President of SETORR (Southeast Texas Off Road Riders). Richard graduated from Nederland High School in 1979 and from Texas A&M University in 1984.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2004 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont. A Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, March 19, 2004 at the mortuary.
Survivors include his wife of nineteen years, Nuria Lyles of Beaumont; parents, Richard and Marilyn Lyles of Port Neches; grandparents, J.C. and Ruth Lyles of Port Neches; two brothers, Mark Lyles and his wife, Debby and T. Cayce Lyles and his wife, Jennifer; nieces and nephews, Chelsea Lyles, Cody Lyles, and Josie Lyles; godchildren, Chelsea Lyles, Will Fussell, Amanda Essoh, and Zachary Essoh; special nieces, Lauren, Alyssa, and Kaitlyn Gainer and Samantha Fussell; other dear family and friends; and his SETORR buddies. He will also be greatly missed by his loyal companion Scrappy.
Richard will be fondly remembered for his zest for life, and the joy that he brought to all those around him.
