Born January 7, 1946 and deceased February 7, 2006,
Camille was a lifelong resident of Beaumont. She is preceded in death by her son, Jason Kent; her parents, J.W. and Katheryn Gernand; brothers, J.W. “Bill” Gernand, Jr. and Horace Gernand; and sister, Margaret Ann “Margie” Gernand.
Camille was a graduate of North Texas State University and earned a Master’s of Special Education from Lamar University. Camille taught school and was an accomplished pianist.
Camille was a loving person to her friends and always tried to see the good in them. She was generous to many and with little thought to her own well being.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Walter Crooks; her twin sister, Christine “Chris” Brock of Montgomery; and her niece, Colleen Ellen of San Antonio.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, February 8, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Mortuary.
