Frances Smith, 79, of Beaumont died January 11, 2006 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. A native of Galveston and resident of Beaumont since she was 11 years old, Frances was a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church for twenty-five years. She was a member of French High School Booster Club and the Beaumont High Lunch Bunch. A very spiritual lady, Frances always had an encouraging word for everyone she met.
She is survived by her son, David Smith and his wife Susie of Beaumont; daughter, Dawn Coates and her husband Bill of Dallas; brother, Robert Johnigan of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandchildren, Luke Smith of Beaumont, and Will Tyson and Christina Coates both of Dallas; and many other loving family members. Her husband, William Edward Smith, preceded Frances in death.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, January 13, 2006 at the mortuary.
