Beatrice Poole Laird, 86, of Kountze, was born on January 2, 1920 to John and Amanda Poole in Normangee, Texas and passed away on Friday, January 6, 2006.
She was a resident of Kountze since 1930 and was a homemaker. She was also a longtime member of Little Rock Assembly of God Church in Kountze.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Edward E. “Ed” Laird.
She is survived by her children, Myrtie Jane Laird Fore and her husband Tommy of Silsbee, John Lester Laird and wife Ruby Jean of Carthage, Thomas T. Laird of Vidor, Joel E. Laird and wife Sylvia of Kountze, Arthur J. Laird and wife Linda of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Retter J. Haines and husband Claude of Houston and Elizabeth Irene Brown and husband John Mike of Sour Lake; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Monday, January 9, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Broussard’s Chapel, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze, Texas with burial to follow at Hooks Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, January 8, 2005 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
