Opal MaxCille Williams, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, age 74, was welcomed to her heavenly home on December 27, 2005 at her residence in Beaumont, Texas.

Opal was a native of Louisiana and was born on July 31, 1931 in Urania. She married Raymond Williams in 1950 and they had three children. Opal was a faithful Christian and received her greatest joy when she was able to spend time with her family, singing hymns and talking about good memories. She was a member of New Life Tabernacle in Beaumont, Texas since her teenage years and loved her church family as her own kin.

She is preceded in death by parents, Mary Florence Stephens and William Harrison Stephens; her husband, Raymond; and her son, Robert Ray “Bobby” Williams. Opal is survived by her daughters, Cindi Ard and her husband Lane of Silsbee, Texas and Sandy Stone and her husband Sheldon of Lumberton, Texas; her sister, Myra Reed and her husband Charles of Lumberton, Texas; brother, W. H. Stephens of Conroe, Texas; daughter-in-law, Myra Williams of Silsbee, Texas; and granddaughters, Stacie Arsement and her husband Brent of Kountze, Texas, Gini Barton and her husband Robert of Silsbee, Texas, and Kari Dolan Fenner and her husband Gavin of Beaumont, Texas; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, on Thursday, December 29 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2005 at New Life Tabernacle with Reverence L. Charles Treadway officiating followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Although Opal’s family and friends are saddened to lose her earthly presence, we are comforted in the fact that she was greeted at Heaven’s gates by her loved ones who have gone before and is resting peacefully in the arms of God.
