Dorothy Scott, 77, of Nederland, passed away Monday, December 26, 2005 at Renaissance Hospital in Port Arthur.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland with Rev. Joy Richards officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the mortuary.
Mrs. Scott was a native of Lubbock, and lived in Nederland for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of Aldersgate Trinity United Methodist Church in Port Arthur.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jones, and her grandson, Damian Lancon. She is survived by her husband, W.L. Scott of Nederland; daughters, Judy Guidry and husband John of Nederland and Gay Lynne Brown and husband Scott also of Nederland; one brother, Bobby Gates and wife Nancey of Village Creek; and brother-in-law, Harry Jones of Port Arthur; seven grandchildren, Johnathan, Joshua, Leigh, Brandi, Pam, Sheila, and Tara; three great grandchildren, Chandler, Kaden, and Olivia Ledet. Also surviving Mrs. Scott are a host nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
