Morton Gerald Black., 72, of Sour Lake, was born on March 20, 1933 in St. Louis Missouri, to Earnest and Gladys Black, and passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at his residence.
Morton lived in Sour Lake for four years and was a retired Pipe fitter with Local #195. He also is a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jean Black of Sour Lake; sons, Johnny Lee Black and his wife Sue of Houston and Gerald Eugene Black and his wife Lisa of Sour Lake; brother, Don Black of Crystal Beach; sister, Norma Kirchner of St. Louis Missouri; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren
Funeral service will be Saturday, December 24, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Grayburg Baptist Church in Sour Lake with burial to follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Sour Lake. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, December 23, 2005 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze, Texas.
