Ethel Rose Simon Cathey, 70, of Winnie died at Winnie Community Hospital, Sunday, December 18, 2005. Ms. Cathey was a homemaker and had resided in Winnie for sixty years.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at Trinity Church with burial at Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, December 20, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
Ethel was preceded in death by her son, Rusty Patin; granddaughter, Kristy Lane Cathey; and brother, Stafford John Simon; she is survived by daughters, Susan Mahon and her husband Ray of Hamshire, and Patty Winzer and her husband Mike of Winnie; son, Kenney Cathey and his wife Theresa of Winnie; sisters, Lucille Keneson and Dolores Marceaux of Winnie and Mary Ann Holloway of Houston; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a favorite aunt, Marylene Williams of Mt. Belview, a special friend, Ida Luce of Winnie; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
