Allen- I miss you so much and think of you often. Little things make me think of you. It is difficult to pick up a package of red hots without breaking down and crying. It would appear to everyone on the candy aisle that I am upset for breaking my diet- when in fact it is just a "sweet" memory of that being your favorite candy and me always buying you a huge jar of them for Christmas. Today is Rusty's Birthday and Layton's is two weeks away. I am so proud of Layton. I will always remember your words to me "just take care of my boys." Although Rusty and I parted ways, Layton is our number one priority and I think of you as we approach Layton's "16th" Birthday. I know how proud you are of him just as Rusty and I are as well. He has turned into a fine young man who definitely loves and protects his family. Layton and I talk about you and remember the times we had with you. We remember you liking our dachshund "Mitzi" and her always climbing on your chest. I remember when you and Rusty would come into Casa Ole' where I worked and leave me big tips. I wasn't sure if you were trying to bribe me to marry your son or if I was in fact that great of a waitress!!!!!! You always made me laugh. I think of Joan often and wish I lived closer to her to check on her. I know that Dana does a great job of that but I do think of Joan often and wish there was something I could do for her. She was my teacher and friend long before she was my Mother-in-Law. We will always be connected as a family through the blood, ties and bond and of course Layton will carry on your family name. I am so grateful that Layton will be driving your truck. What an honor for him. He is so excited to have "Pa's Truck." He took the driver's course last summer here in Burleson and will be coming back here to get his license. He is so proud to get his truck and he promises to take care of it "just like Pa did." We Love You and We Miss You!!! Forever your daughter-in-law, forever your friend. Angel

Pa I miss you, and think of you almost every day. I have now begun to look at things that remind me of you and smile or laugh, not to cry anymore. Slowly but surely I am understanding the fact that I wont see you for a while. And if there is truly a heaven which i believe I know your there! And I know your doing something to help or Lord, and I know that you are always with Ma and I and i know that you are helping me with my life, I know you are watching my mistakes and helping me fix them, I truly know this. And I know that you are reading this now, and I want you to know that I miss you and love you and you will always be with me in my heart. I am watching out for Ma, because I know thats what you would have wanted me to do, I call her usually every two or three days, I try not to annoy her, haha. But I am watching out for her and taking care of her ok? You dont need to worry about her. Well I am finally going to High School, you would have been so proud of me, I recieved a commended score on three of my four TAKS test!! I was so happy, and I knew you were to up there! Becuase people tell me thats all you used to talk about, how good my grades were! Well I will be keeping them as high as I can these next four years of my life! I love you so much and I miss you! Every once in a while i will leave you a message for you to look at and read! I love you again and don't worry I pretty much got everything undercontrol! Love your Grandson, Layton Allen McCown
