JOHN LOWERY DAVIS
John L. Davis, 79, died Sunday, November 20, 2005 in Houston of natural causes.
He was born April 20, 1926 in Stratford, Oklahoma to George and Zula Newton Davis. John attended school at Corley and graduated from Stratford High School in 1944. John married Virginia Ann Bryan on April 2, 1950 in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was a World War II combat veteran and served with the 275th Infantry Division, Company I, 7th Army in Europe. John retired from Mobil Chemical in Beaumont, Texas.
His parents, his wife, Ann Bryan Davis; infant son, Donald Joe Davis; and brother, Lewis Davis preceded him in death.
Survivors include by his son, Cecil John Davis of Houston; brother, Joe Davis of Moore, Oklahoma; aunt, Elva Cushman of Sulphur, Oklahoma; relatives, Preston and Nancy Bryan Perdue and Laura Bryan Folsom all of Norman, Oklahoma, Frank and Faith Bryan Forsey of San Bernardino, California, Brent and Lee Ann Powell of Houston, Joe Monds of Beaumont, Susan Davis Rosenbaugh, Mary Davis and Dale Davis of New Mexico.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada, Oklahoma under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the Mortuary.
