Mary Marie Giardina, a resident of Floresville, Texas for the past twelve years, passed away on June 17, 2004 at the age of 96. Born in Bryan, Texas, Mary resided most of her life in Beaumont. Along with her husband, Nick Giardina, they operated the Liberty Street Grocery. Her greatest love was being with her family and friends, crocheting, playing cards, and visiting the casinos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at St. Anthony Cathedral followed by burial in Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A Christian Vigil will be 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, June 18, 2004 at the mortuary.
Her husband, and thirteen brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
She is survived by three children; Sister Maryann Giardina, O.P., Rose Haberstroh and her husband, Ed, and Sam Giardina and his wife, Elaine; her grandchildren are Chris, Randy, Scott and wife, Terri, Kirk Fertitta, Denise Gaudiano and husband, Vito, Suzanne Giardina, Nichole Toalson and husband, Brandon, Erica Wilkins, Mike, Steve, and Jeff Haberstroh and their respective spouses Lisa, Nikki and Melissa Haberstroh. Her great grandchildren are Joseph, Nicholas, Ashley, and Chelsey Gaudiano, Heaven Leigh Castillo, Dusty, Cody, and Brittany Haberstroh, and Leigh and Lauren McMahon.
