Doris Burns age 92, of Nederland passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Groves.
She was born April 2, 1913 in Sale City, GA. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and also worked many years with the Retired Seniors Volunteer Services of Nederland.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Jean Blackmon of Nederland, Virginia Burns McDonald of Deer Park; one son, David Earl Burns of Cochran, GA; one sister, Vinelda Coleman of Macon, GA; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Sue Boyd; five sisters and three brothers.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-7 pm Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Broussard’s Mortuary 505 12th. St. in Nederland. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday November 13, 2005 in Broussard’s Nederland Chapel with Reverend Frank Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
