Martha Pauline Schooley, 75, of Beaumont died Monday, June 14, 2004 in Beaumont. A native of Anderson, Mrs. Schooley was born April 29, 1915 to Joseph and Stella Pasket. She married Claude Lewis Schooley June 23, 1936. Martha loved her adult life in Beaumont. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont followed by burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at the mortuary.
Martha’s husband of fifty-two years, Claude Lewis; two sisters; two brothers; and one great grandchild preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcelle Samford and her husband Steve of Beaumont; son, Ed Schooley of Lumberton; grandchildren, Debbie Luquette and her husband C.J., Rick Hallenbeck and his wife Ashley; and Ruth Ann Schooley; and great grandchildren, Shanna Gipson and Kristopher Mathews.
Martha was loved and respected by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by family and friends. We will remember her in our hearts and won’t forget the wonderful memories we have shared.
The family wishes to express thanks and gratitude to her in-home caregivers, Celia, Willie Mae, and Kathy for the excellent care given our mother during her illness and to Margie at Morris Health Care for the love and compassion given to her in the final days of her life.
