Charmaine E. Moore, 77, of Idylwild died Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Dubuis hospital in Beaumont. A native of Salsburg, Austria, and Beaumont resident since 1961, Mrs. Moore was an accomplished pianist, organist, and spoke five different languages. She loved to golf and play bridge, and was known by many and loved by all.
Mrs. Moore was married for forty-eight years to Glenn Moore. While in the service, Mr. Moore had to travel to Munich for military business. After business he took a walk along the river and came upon a USO club. He heard singing and decided to stop in and listen to several songs. Ten years later, Mr. Moore went to the Cork Club in Houston with business associates. One business associate recognized a woman he knew to be a singer and asked her to sing. Mr. Moore danced with this same woman. In the course of conversation, he discovered that she was the same woman he had stopped and listened to in Munich ten years before.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
