Quentin “Kit” Roberts, 87, of Kountze, was born to Levin and Ida Roberts on July 29, 1918 in Kountze, Texas. He passed away Thursday, August 11, 2005 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. Funeral service will be Sunday, August 14, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Broussard’s 530 W. Monroe, Kountze, Texas, with Reverend Dan Gardner and Reverend Tony Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Hooks Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be today from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at the mortuary.
A native and life long resident of Kountze, “Kit” was a retired carpenter and assisted in the building of the current Hardin County Court House and Kountze Middle School. He is also a WW II U.S. Navy Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his sister: Georgia Cleveland and is survived by his wife: Dopsy Roberts of Kountze; son: George A. Roberts and his wife Brenda of Bellaire; granddaughter: Amy Roberts Georgas and her husband William of Kingsland, Georgia; great grandchildren: Taylor Austin Georgas and Garrett Ryan Georgas; nieces and nephews: Robert & Sue Cleveland of Kountze, Jackie & Jimmy Anders of Kountze and Kitty & Gerry Drake of Houston; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
