Verda Mae Sutton, 67, of Kountze, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at her residence. Funeral service will be Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Broussard’s Chapel, 700 W. Saratoga, Hwy, Kountze, with burial to follow at Jordan Cemetery in Honey Island. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, July 30, 2005 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
She was born in Honey Island on April 12, 1938 to Norman David Sr. and Verda Jewel Rice. She was a lifelong resident of the Kountze area and was a former cafeteria worker for the Kountze ISD.
She is survived by her husband, P.D. Sutton of Kountze; daughters, Deborah Morse of Lumberton, Elain Sutton of Warren, Susan Holland of Village Mills, Barbara Graham of Saratoga, Debra Sims of Warren; son, Thomas Cryer of Kountze; sister, Juanita Johnson of Honey Island; brother, Norman D. Rice, Jr. of Shepherd, TX; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
