Matthew “Matt” Ryan Nunez
Matthew “Matt” Ryan Nunez, 27, of Beaumont died July 28, 2005 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Matt worked as a carpenter with Twin Oaks Construction.
He was a 1996 graduate of Beaumont Christian High School, where he played football, ran track and field, won state his senior year in the discus . Matt was all state in football his senior year and played center and defensive end. In his spare time he enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and carpentry work.
Matt is survived by his mother, Nona Ray Peveto and her husband James of Beaumont; father, Gilbert W. Nunez, Jr. and his wife Angela of Silsbee; daughter, Hailey Marie Nunez of Beaumont; brother, Gil Nunez , III and his wife Marcy of Georgetown; step-sisters, Cheree and Monique Peveto; step-brother; Jared Peveto; niece, Payton Ray Nunez of Georgetown; nephew, Pierceson Ryan Nunez of Georgetown; grandmother, Lena Mae Nunez of Beaumont; uncles, Dan Nunez, Mike Nunez, Mark Nunez, Shawn Nunez, Kevin Nunez, Joe Wingerson; aunts, Michelle Nunez, Erin Roper and Pat Wingerson; great uncles, Albert Nunez of Houston and Leo Luquette of Beaumont; great aunts, Pat Luquette of Beaumont and Margaret Blackstone.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2005 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday evening July 31, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and also on Monday evening August 1, 2005 from 6:00 p.m until service time at the mortuary.
