Dale Reed Smith, 69, of Kountze, died Monday, July 11, 2005 in Beaumont, Texas. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 3:00 P.M. at Broussard’s 700 W. Saratoga, Hwy, Kountze, Texas, with Reverend Tony Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be today from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
A native of Honey Island, he was a lifelong resident of the Kountze area and was a retired draftsman for Mundy, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Smith of Kountze; children, Stephen Dale Smith and wife Genelle of Mauriceville, Gary Lee Smith and wife Alice of Honey Island, Kevin Lynn Smith and his wife Dot of Honey Island, Craig Alan Smith and wife Bridget of Sour Lake, Tim Smith of Honey Island, Kim Price and husband Ryan of Kountze, Felicia Smith and Jason Hartman of Lumberton; Mother, Ida Wakeland of Kountze; brother, E.C. Smith of Honey Island, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
