Adam Wade Ehrensberger, loving son, brother, uncle and friend passed away Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. Wade died after a severe head injury he received while playing softball. He was surrounded by family and friends when he went to meet his dad in heaven.

Wade was born August 17, 1983 in Beaumont and was a 2002 graduate of Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School. He was a four-year letterman in baseball and was a left-handed pitcher, who received a two-year baseball scholarship to Ranger Junior College. He was currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology at Lamar University in Beaumont and was planning to coach baseball on the high school level. He was employed at M&D Supply in Beaumont.

Wade was a generous, good-hearted man who was always willing to help others. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed playing with his niece and nephews. His favorite past times were hanging out with friends and working on his 1964 Mustang. His greatest passion was baseball. Wade died playing the game he loved.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Ehrensberger. He will be dearly missed by his mother, Kerry Ehrensberger; sisters, Kristi Gallander and Sherri Simmons; brother, Graig Ehrensberger; grandmother, Mary Ehrensberger; brothers-in-law, Gary Gallander and Preston Simmons; nephews, Justin Gallander and Will Simmons; niece, Kate Gallander; uncles and aunts, Tommy and Brenda Ehrensberger, Bill and Kathleen Dagg, and Dorothy Pepitone; cousins, Tommy Ehrensberger, John Ehrensberger, and Bryan Pepitone; and many loving family members and friends.

In honoring Wade’s wishes, his family consented to organ donation. Southwest Transplant Alliance was contacted for the organ recovery. Wade’s family has hopes that by being a donor something positive can come out of such a tragic event.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at St. Anne Catholic Church followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 N Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, July 5, 2005 with a Christian vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.

Serving as pallbearers will be Julian Abshire, Justen Franklin, Adam Lovett, Dustin Moore, Ross Owens, Chris Parigi, Kevin Driskill, Curtis Holland, and Kevin LaGrone.

The Ehrensberger family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the prayers, love and support we received while Wade was hospitalized. There are no words to express how overwhelmed we were by the number of people that took time to be with our family and Wade during this terrible tragedy. It was truly heart warming to see the number of people that Wade has touched in his short life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Monsignor Kelly High School Baseball Program, 5950 Kelly Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77707.

Wade, There isn't a day goes by that i don't miss you. I still think about us going out to Kelly somedays and throwing the ball around and hitting in the cage. We had no need for talking sometimes because just playing ball a little was all that was needed to be said. I guess only a select few people can understand that. I miss you buddy.
