Betty Joe Bernard Luis, 74, of Port Neches died July 2, 2005 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. A native of Beaumont and resident of Port Neches for thirty-five years, Betty was a 1948 graduate of French High School. She was employed with Laclede Steel Company as an estimator and was known for her strong spirit and her care for others.
She is survived by her husband, George Luis of Port Neches; son, Rick Gremillion and his wife Deann of Mansfield, Texas; daughter, Leanne St. John and her husband James of Port Neches; mother, Eula Bernard of Beaumont; sister, Barbara Harris and her husband Don of Beaumont; stepsons, Al Luis and David Luis both of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Shawn Gremillion, Lindsey Gremillion, and Alicia Luis; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, July 5, 2005 at the mortuary.
