Stella Mae Borel Merrill, 75, of Houston died May 24, 2005 at Heartland- Willowbrook in Houston. A native of Beaumont and a resident of the Houston area for the past nineteen years, she worked as an emergency room secretary for Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Stella is survived by her daughter, Stella Marie Pratt of Houston, Texas; sons, Vincent Royal Merrill, Jr. of Stafford, Texas, Michael John Merrill and his wife Marilyn of Nederland; brother, Donald Anthony Borel and his wife Madeline of Beaumont; daughter-in-law, Josefa (Pepi) Merrill of Beaumont; grandchildren, Jarrell W. Pratt III, Angela Hrapchak and her husband Dale, Cindy Merrill, Michelle Merrill, Jessica Rawlinson and her husband Chris, Hayley Merrill, Chad Merrill, Dustin Stark, Deanna Stark; great grandchildren, Julia Kate Hrapchak, Riley Marie Merrill and Payton Rawlinson and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel Sehon, Adele Magallanes and Barbara Gunthter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2005 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be John Sehon, Jarrell W. Pratt III, Chad Merrill, Dustin Stark, Dale Hrapchak and John Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Borel, Ronnie Sehon and Leonard Gunther. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
