Juanita Lea Owings, 82, of Kountze, Texas died Friday, May 6, 2005 at Silsbee Convalescent Center.
Funeral service will be Sunday, May 8, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Broussard’s, 700 W. Saratoga Hwy, Kountze, Texas.
A native of Tulip, Arkansas, Juanita lived in Kountze for 45 years and was a Sales Clerk for Allen’s Department Store.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Edna Green Lea of Tulip, Arkansas; four sisters;one brother; and her husband, Sam E. Owings.
She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Nelda Overstreet, Nancy Gandy and her husband David, and Carol McDonald and her husband Robbie all of Kountze and Terry McNeely of Beaumont: sisters, Billie Stephens of Kountze, Jo Rood and a brother, Wayne Lea both of Malvern, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, Reka Diaz, Scott Reeves, Leanne Imer, Judy Landis, Kathy Martinka, Matt Reeves, Kelly McNeely, Natalie McNeely, Don McDonald, Sterling McDonald, Amanda Overstreet ;fourteen great grandchildren and many other close family members.
A special thank you from the family is extended to the Ben and Julie Rogers Cancer Institute, Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital and the Silsbee Convalescent Center.
