Martha Smith, 80, of Kountze, Texas was born on October 3, 1924 to Clyde and Emma Simpson. She passed away Thursday, April 21, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service will be Monday, April 25, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, April 24, 2005 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Broussard’s 700 W. Saratoga Hwy, Kountze, Texas.
Martha was a native and lifelong resident of Kountze and was a Cafeteria Manager for Galveston Independent School District at the Port Bolivar Schools with 19 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her sons, George Reed and Leon A. Smith and sisters, Louella French and Susie Ryman.
She is survived by her sons, Clyde Reed and his wife Lydia of Buna, Michael Ling and his wife Ginger of Port Bolivar, and Morgan Smith and his wife Roxanne of Port Bolivar; daughters, Brenda Smith of Caplen and Alice Gennusa of Crystal Beach; sisters, Necil Melvin of Kountze, Eugenia Clark of Kountze, Nellie Kahla of Port Bolivar and Elmyra Clark of Port Bolivar; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
