MYRA JANE TINDALL GOENNE
May 2, 1912 - April 19, 2005
Myra Goenne, formerly of Port Arthur and San Angelo, Texas, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Graceland Care Center, Oxford, Mississippi, where she had been a resident for two years three months.
She was born May 2, 1912, to Herman and Florence May Bollinger Tindall in Rock Island County, Illinois. The oldest of six children, she was preceded in death by her sister Erma Foster, brother, Ralph Tindall, and brother Warren Tindall, as well as her parents. She is survived by her four children: Evelyn Louise Goenne Williams of Gambier, Ohio; Marjorie Bernice Goenne George of Downey, California; Arline Lois Goenne Henderson of Oxford, Mississippi, and Frederick Robert Goenne of Port Arthur, Texas. She also leaves five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Myra was a licensed vocational nurse at Shannon West Texas Memorial Hospital in San Angelo, Texas, for many years and then a volunteer with the Women’s Auxiliary at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur. She enjoyed traveling with her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Aleta Goenne, especially to the Cayman Islands. She won “most beautiful patio” while a resident at Fernham Park because of her love of flowers and gardening.
Funeral services will be at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland, Texas on April 23, 2005. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 with a graveside service immediately following.
