Betty Marie Ames, 73, of China, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at College Street Health Care Center, Beaumont. She was born on February 6, 1944, to Meda Mewborn Ames and Ashley R. Ames, in Deridder, Louisiana. Betty worked as a registered nurse in Beaumont.
Survivors include her brother, Richard Ames and his wife, Jackie, of Ochlocknee, Georgia; sister, Cynthia Freeman of Beaumont; and niece, Diana Lee and her husband, Cory, of Austin; nephews, Jesse Ames and his wife, Leslie, of Milledgeville, Georgia; Catlin Ames and his fiancée, Kriston Freeman, of Oro, Maine; and great-niece, Ciara Ames of Cairo, Georgia. She was a caregiver for Walter Mosakowski for ten years.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frank McCullough, Jr.
Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1065 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
